CIARA LEDDY

In my free time, I enjoy contributing to my community and surrounding areas by getting involved in extracurricular clubs and spreading happiness through performing Irish dance for others. I volunteer at the Aisling Irish Community Center in Yonkers, NY once a week to prepare food that will be delivered to the homeless in New York City. I also connect with Italian students once a week via zoom to strengthen their skills in English language. I also volunteer at my Irish dance school weekly helping the younger students prepare for upcoming competitions. I've also participated in various parades and events in my community as part of my cultural heritage. I performed for the City Council of Yonkers at numerous events and received accolades for doing so. As part of my high school community, I have participated in multiple club events such as Thanksgiving food drive, "Box City" (temporary cardboard street residences) , and performing at local nursing homes as part of the Gaelic Society in my school. I enjoy giving back to my community and these are the qualities that I will continue to strengthen in college.
